YOUTH WORK
Following its formation in 1990 the Rotary Club of Brewood and District embarked on a programme of youth activity designed to provide opportunities for young people to fulfil their potential in a variety of ways.
The success enjoyed to date by literally hundreds of children in our operational area is largely due to the fact that Rotary in Great Britain and Ireland offers a number of competitions carefully designed to encourage young people to enter (usually through their schools and colleges) and compete in friendly rivalry.
Starting at club level, competitors have the opportunity to win through to District, Regional and even National success.
The competitions offered by the Brewood Club through schools are ‘Young Chef’, ‘Young Musician’, ‘Young Photographer’ and ‘Youth Speaks’ and successes have been achieved with students reaching the regional finals of both the Young Musician and the Young Chef.
Members of the club have also been involved with visits into schools providing assistance with reading for Primary children.
This wide and varied youth programme encourages, young people, their teachers, parents and families to grow together and benefit from the involvement through Rotary.
